Examination
Measure the thickness of the pads and if it is less than the limit, replace the pads as a set.
- Standard Thickness: 9.0mm
- Limit Thickness: 1.6mm
The thickness of the metal plate is not taken into account.
Replacement
Attention. Make sure that oil does not get on the contact surfaces of the brake disc and pads.
1. Remove the brake hose bracket from the lower shock absorber bracket.
2. Hold the hex section of the pin with a wrench and unscrew the flange bolts (8 mm) and remove the caliper housing.
3. Hang the caliper body with wire.
Attention. Do not hang the caliper on the brake hose. Be careful not to damage the brake hose with the bracket and other components.
4. Remove the pads and gaskets from the brake caliper bracket.
5. Remove the holders.
6. Clean the caliper bracket from dirt.
7. Install the holders.
8. Apply Dalkarubu 528D grease to the areas shown in the illustration.
Attention.
- Apply so that it does not squeeze out during the installation of gaskets.
- Make sure that oil does not get on the contact surfaces of the brake disc and pads.
9. Clean the caliper body from dirt and carefully press the piston.
Check to see if brake fluid is leaking from the reservoir.
10. Reinstall the caliper body and tighten the flange bolt (8 mm).
11. Install the brake hose bracket to the lower shock absorber bracket.
12. Press several times a brake pedal and extend the piston.
Attention. Do not start with the pistons not extended. If the piston is pushed in too far, braking performance may not be sufficient when the pedal is pressed for the first time.
13. Check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir.
14. After installation, check if the brake hose is twisted and if the brake fluid is leaking.
