- Do not apply grease or oil to the friction surfaces of the friction linings and the brake drum.

Attention. Do not apply grease or oil to the friction surfaces of the friction linings and the brake drum.
1. Remove the rear brake caliper and remove the platter (see ch. Front and rear suspension).
2. Check friction linings for chips, cracks and wear.
3. Check the thickness of the pads.
- Standard Thickness: 2.5mm
- Limit thickness: 1.0mm
If the thickness of the pads is less than the limit, replace the pads as a set.
4. Measure the inside diameter of the brake drum.
- Standard Diameter: 170mm
- Limit diameter: 171 mm
5. Check the inside of the drum for nicks, wear, or other damage.
