- Standard (new): 0.15-0.30mm
- Redistribution: 0.40 mm
If the play is more than acceptable, install a new connecting rod.
If play is still significant, replace crankshaft (see below).
Move the crankshaft away from the indicator and set the indicator needle to zero, resting its head against the end of the crankshaft.
Then move the crankshaft towards the indicator; the indicator reading should not exceed the wear limit.
If end play is excessive, check thrust washers and thrust surface on crankshaft. Replace components if necessary.
Axial play of the crankshaft:
- Standard (new): 0.10-0.35mm
- Redistribution: 0.45 mm
Note: Thrust washer thickness is constant and should not be changed by grinding or shims. Thrust washers are installed with the grooved sides facing out.
