Checking the axle and rocker arms

1. Measure the diameter of the rocker pin in the area of the first rocker.



2. Zero the indicator readings on the diameter of the rocker shaft.



3. Measure the inside diameter of the rocker arms and check for out-of-roundness.



Clearance between axle and rocker arms:

• nominal - 0.019-0.058 mm
• maximum - 0.080 mm

4. Check up a backlash between all yokes and an axis of yokes. If the clearance is greater than the maximum, replace the rocker shaft and the rocker whose clearance exceeds the maximum. If any rocker needs to be replaced, replace #1 and #2 rocker assemblies.

5. Check the rocker plungers. Click on each plunger.

If plunger movement is difficult, replace rocker assembly.

Note: Apply oil to plungers when replacing.
