1. Move the shift lever to Park (Parking) or neutral position and apply the parking brake. Pull the hood release handle, which is located on the left under the control panel. This will raise the hood slightly.
2. Standing in front of the car, slide the fingers of your right hand under the front edge of the hood (to the right of the middle of the hood). Then swipe that hand to the left and feel for the extra hood release handle. Pull this handle all the way to the left to release the hood. Raise the hood.
3. Release the support post from the holder and insert its end into the socket on the inside of the hood. The socket is located on the right when viewed from the front of the vehicle. To close the hood, lift it slightly and remove the end of the support strut from the hood slot. Lay the strut in place and insert it into the holder, Lower the hood to a height of about 30 cm above the front cross member and then release it. In this case, the hood latch should close.
