Attention! The vehicles covered in this manual are equipped with airbags (SRS). When performing any work near the shock sensors, steering column or instrument panel, turn off the SRS (see wiring diagrams at the end of the Chapter Onboard electrical equipment).
Attention! If the stereo system installed in the car is equipped with a security code, before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you have the correct combination to activate the audio system!
1. On models with manual power windows, remove the window lowering / raising handle (see accompanying illustration).
2. Remove the inner door handle (see Removal and installation of latches and cylinders of locks and external and internal door handles).
3a. Loosen the screws securing the trim panel (see accompanying illustrations).
3b. Removing the door handle trim.
3s. Removing the rear screw securing the armrest handle.
3d. Removing the front screw securing the armrest handle.
3e. Then, carefully prying the latches located around the perimeter, separate the panel from the door frame (see accompanying illustration).
4. Slightly lift the panel and disconnect the wiring connectors.
5. In order to provide access to the door frame, gently pry the latches and remove the plastic insulating screen.
6. Replace the plastic shield. Before installing the interior upholstery panel, be sure to make sure that all the clips provided are in place (some of the bottom could fall out during the dismantling of the panel).
7. If equipped, restore the original single lock/power window wiring. Press the panel against the door and carefully snap the side clips into place. Screw in the fixing screws. If equipped, reinstall the door lock switch assembly. Install the power window hand crank.
