Check/Replace
Attention. During inspection and replacement, make sure that dust and other foreign particles do not enter the transmission.
Examination
Attention. Remove all foreign particles from the transmission.
Note: Check the fluid level at normal engine operating temperature (radiator fan on).
1. Place the car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Pull out the dipstick (for the yellow loop) from the transmission and wipe with a clean cloth.
3. Insert the dipstick into the transmission.

4. Pull out the dipstick and check the fluid level, it should be between the upper and lower marks.

5. If the level is below the lower mark, add fluid to the dipstick hole to bring it to the upper mark. Use only Honda Premium Formula Automatic Transmission Huid or equivalent DEXTRON II Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).
6. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission.

Insert the dipstick back into the transmission in the direction shown.
Replacement
Attention. Remove all foreign particles from the transmission.
1. Bring the transmission to operating temperature by driving the vehicle. Place the vehicle on a level surface, turn off the engine, and remove the drain plug.
2. Install the drain plug with a new washer, then fill the transmission to the top line on the dipstick.
