Note: Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (the fan should turn on).
1. Use the handbrake to block the wheels. Start the engine, then shift to position [D4] while pressing the brake pedal. Press the gas pedal and release it quickly. The engine should not stall.
2. Repeat the same test in position [D3].
3. Move the knob to position [D4] and check that the shift points appear at approximate speeds on a level road, as shown below. Also check for abnormal noise and clutch slippage.
Position [D4] or [D3]
- Switching up
- Switching down
- Lock
4. Accelerate to a speed of approximately 57 km/h with the transmission in 4th gear, then shift the handle from [D4] to position, the vehicle should immediately begin to decelerate due to engine braking.
Attention. Do not shift the lever from position [D4] or [D3] to position [2] at speeds above 100 km/h: you may damage the transmission.
5. Check for abnormal noise and clutch slippage in the following positions. Position [2] (2nd gear)
A. Accelerate from a standstill with the throttle wide open. Check whether there is abnormal noise or clutch slippage.
b. Shifts up or down should not occur in this position.
Position [R] (Reverse gear)
Accelerate from a stop at full throttle, and check for abnormal noise and clutch slippage.
6. Test in Position [P] (Parking)
Park the car on an incline (approximately 16), secure the parking brake, and shift to the [P] position. Release the brake - the car should not move.
