Description
The main injection system relay consists of two independent relays. The relay is located on the passenger side of the hood. The first relay is activated when the ignition is turned on and powers the electronic control unit, fuel injectors and the second relay. The second relay turns on after turning on the ignition for 2 seconds and while the engine is running, it powers the fuel pump.
Relay test
Note: If the vehicle starts and continues to move, the main injection relay is OK.
1. Remove the main injection system relay.
2. Connect 12V power to relay contacts ("+" to contact No. 2 and to contact No. 1), then check continuity between contacts No. 4 and No. 5 of the relay. If there is conductivity, go to point 3.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay and recheck the system.
3.Connect 12V power to relay contacts ("+" to pin No. 5 and to pin No. 3), then check continuity between contacts No. 7 and No. 6 of the relay. If there is conductivity, go to step 4.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay and recheck the system.
4. Connect 12V power to relay contacts ("+" to pin No. 6 and "-" to contact No. T), then check continuity between contacts No. 5 and No. 4 of the relay.
If there is continuity, the relay is ok.
If there is no continuity, replace the relay and recheck the system.
