SRS parts are located in this area, learn SRS parts locations, safety precautions and work procedures for vehicles with SRS (section 24), before performing repairs or maintenance.
Note: Before removing the steering wheel, place the wheels in a strictly straight position.
1. Remove the airbag from the steering wheel.
2. Disconnect the horn connector and the cruise control switch connector.
3. Remove the bolt (nut) steering wheel.
4. For bolt type, loosely install the steering wheel bolt into the column shaft, then install a commercially available puller to remove the steering wheel.
Attention.
- Do not tap the steering wheel or steering column shaft when removing the steering wheel.
- If you screw the puller bolts into the steering wheel hub more than five turns, the bolts will push against the cable reel and damage it. To prevent this, tighten a pair of lock nuts five turns onto each puller bolt.
Cars without SRS
1. Remove the center cover from the steering wheel.
Note: Be careful not to damage the center cap.
2. Remove the steering wheel nut.

Note: Before installing the steering wheel, make sure the front wheels are straight.
Cars with SRS

Note: Make sure the steering wheel shaft engages with the cable reel and cancel bushing.
3. Attach the cruise control switch connector to the steering wheel clamp.
4. Connect the horn connector.
5. Install the airbag and make sure the system is working properly.

Note: Align the slots on the steering wheel shaft with the pins on the turn signal disconnect bushing.
2. Make sure the steering wheel is positioned correctly. Reinstall if necessary.
Note: If you do not achieve a completely straight position, turn the tie rods equally to adjust the direction of the front wheels with the steering wheel in a strictly straight position. Refer to the section to adjust the front wheel toe.
3. Tighten the steering wheel nut and install the center cap.
4. After installing the steering wheel, check whether the horn works correctly.
