The air conditioning system removes heat from the passenger compartment by recirculating refrigerant through the system, as shown below.
This machine uses HFC-134a refrigerant (R-134a), which does not contain chlorine. Please note the following service points.
- Do not mix CFC-12 refrigerants (R-12) and HFC-134a (R-134a). They are incompatible with each other. Use only recommended refrigerant oil (PAG) stamps (Nippondenso: ND-OIL8 P/N 38899-PR7-003 or P/N 3S899-PRZ-A61, or brand SP-10, P/N-38899-P13-003 or P/N 38899-P13-A01, designed for R-134a refrigerant, Mixing the recommended PAG oil with other types of oil will cause compressor damage.
- All air conditioning components (compressor, condenser, tubes, o-rings, etc.) designed for the use of R-134a refrigerant, do not worry about parts for R-12. Use a halogen gas leak detector for R-134a.
- When working with a vacuum pump, use a special valve adapter to prevent oil from the vacuum pump from entering the system.
- Separate and do not confuse accessories and devices for working with the R-12 and R-134a air conditioning systems.
