2. With the ignition system off and the candles removed (see section 3) crank the engine until oil pressure appears in the system.
3. Install the spark plugs and turn on the ignition system (see section 3).
4. Start the engine. There may be some start-up delay necessary to build up fuel pressure in the system.
Note: If the carburetor is backfiring, check the ignition setting and valve adjustment.
5. After starting, warm up the engine to operating temperature at idle and leave it at this mode for another 15 minutes. Stop the engine and check the fuel, oil and coolant levels.
6. On a road with little traffic, accelerate at full throttle from 50 to 80 km/h, then slow down again to 50 km/h with closed throttle. Repeat acceleration and coasting 10-12 times. This will help the rings to take their position relative to the walls of the cylinder. Check for oil and coolant leaks.
8. Run the engine in the first 800 km without violating the rules of the road for maximum speed. Constantly check the oil and coolant levels. During break-in, a slightly increased oil consumption may be observed.
9. After break-in (800 km run) change oil and oil filter.
10. After 2000-3000 km, change the oil and filter again.
