2. Remove the flywheel (see Section 15).
3. The old oil seal can be removed by lightly pressing a screwdriver. Before removing the oil seal, measure the seating depth: install a new oil seal to the same depth.
Attention: do not damage the surfaces of the crankshaft and the oil seal housing to avoid oil leakage.
4. Clean the shaft journal and gland seat with solvent or gasoline. Check the shaft journal for dents or scratches that could damage the sealing lip of the gland. If scratches are found, try to polish them. Otherwise, the crankshaft needs to be replaced.
5. Lubricate the gland. Pack grease into the seal cavity.
6. Carefully insert the oil seal and lightly tap it into place with a hammer.
7. Reassemble the power package, start the engine and check for oil leaks.
