Control
Models up to 1986
1. Check the condition of the vacuum hose between the throttle body and the sensor. Replace if necessary.
2. Check the correct connection of the electrical connector of the sensor, the tightness of the contact in the connector.
3. The rest of the control must be carried out using special equipment at a service station.
Models since 1988
4. Turn off the ignition.
5. Remove the ''HAZARD' fuse" from the fuse panel for 10 seconds to reset the EMU memory.
6. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and check that the indicator "CHECK ENGINE" continues to flash.
7. Turn off the ignition and disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
Pic. 4.7 The absolute pressure sensor is located at the rear wall of the engine compartment: WHT - white; GRN/WHT - green/white; YEL/RED - yellow/red
8. Turn the ignition key to the second position, measure the voltage between the yellow / red contact and "weight". It should be around 5 volts.
9. Measure the voltage between the yellow/red and green/white pins. It should be around 5 volts.
10. Measure the voltage between the white and green/white pins. It should be around 5 volts.
11. If the voltage is different from the specified, replace the sensor.
12. If the sensor is OK, check the sensor circuit. In case of difficulty, contact a service station.
Replacement
13. Disconnect wires and a vacuum hose from the gauge.
14. Turn away bolts of fastening of the gauge to a wall and remove it.
15. Install in reverse order.
