half shaft (CR-V): 1. The amount of lubricant. Inner joint: all models 130 g, lubrication of the inner joint splines 0.5-1.0 g; 2. Outer hinge: 1997 models 130-140g, all 1999 models 140-150g; 3. 1. Remove the axle shaft.
2. Mark the relative position on the axle shaft of the intermediate support and hinge covers.
3. Mark the position of the inner pivot roller grooves.
4. Remove boot straps, then remove boot and inner hinge housing (if the clamps are welded, then bite them).
5. Mark the position of the rollers in relation to the cross and the position of the cross in relation to the axle shaft.
6. Remove the rollers, remove the spring rings, cross and retaining ring (it is recommended to remove the cross with a puller).
7. On vehicles up to 1998, the outer joint cannot be removed from the shaft. Wrap the splines with tape and remove the inner pivot boot, intermediate support, and outer boot.
8. On vehicles after 1998, remove the outer hinge using an impact tool by doing the following.
- A. Mark the position of the hinge relative to the axle shaft.
- B. Clamp the axle shaft in a vise, wrapping it with a rag.
- B. Screw the impactor adapter onto the threaded part of the joint and knock the joint out of the axle shaft.
- D. Remove retaining ring
- E. Wrap the slots with tape and remove the cover.
