Cardan shaft — removal and installation

1. Mark the position of the cardan shaft on the flanges of the transfer case and rear gearbox.

2. Remove the shaft guard.

3. For insurance, tie the shaft with wire.

4. Turn away bolts of fastening of a cardan shaft to a flange of a back reducer.

5. Turn away bolts of an average support of a shaft.

6. Turn away bolts of fastening of a cardan shaft to a flange of a distributing box.

7. Remove the shaft.

8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Tighten the bolts to the torques shown in the photo.

Cardan joint and middle support - replacement

The cardan shaft is non-separable and in case of failure of parts (hinges or supports) changes in collection. The balance of the removed shaft is checked (and performed) at the dealer's car service.
