Output Shaft Assembly — Accord 1984-89, Prelude 1984-87

Clean all parts thoroughly with detergent and dry with compressed air. Lubricate all parts with oil before assembly.

CAUTION: Each synchronizer sleeve has 3 sets of extended teeth spaced 120°apart. During assembly, they must be aligned with the corresponding 3 sets of recessed slots on the hub.

1. Install thrust washer and needle bearing.

2. Install the 1st gear.

3. Install the synchronizer parts: ring, spring, clutch, hub, spring and ring.

4. Install the 2nd gear.

5. Install the bushing, needle bearing and 3rd gear.

6. Install the bushing and 4th gear.

7. Install the 5th gear.
